How tuition works
Our current figures are on the enrollment page, and we are glad to talk them through by phone.
What sets tuition
Tuition depends on the course: the lifeguard course, first aid and CPR on its own, or a recertification day. Courses differ in how many days they take, and a staff course is quoted for the whole team. The enrollment page shows our figures for each course.
Registration
A registration covers your place in the course and the course materials, such as the manual and the online part. It is due when you register, once for each course.
Holding a place
Your first payment holds your place. When a course is full, we keep a waitlist in the order people asked and call or text the same day a place opens.
Billing
Tuition is paid when you register, online or by phone. A manager booking a staff course can ask for one invoice for the whole team.
Help with tuition
Ask us whether help with tuition is open this season. Some employers and camps pay for staff courses, and we are glad to send the paperwork they ask for.
Withdrawing
Tell us at least a week before the first day if you cannot come, and we move you to a later course. After the course has started, we look at each case and talk it through.
Missed classes and make-ups
A course asks you to attend every session. If you miss part of one because of illness, we move you to the same part of the next course. If the pool closes for weather or repairs, we make the session up.
Gear and other costs
We provide the manikins, rescue tubes and backboards. A swimsuit or swim shirt, a towel, goggles and a swim cap come from home, and a pocket mask for your own use is sold at the front desk.
